Trinity welcomes Dame Sally Davies

Today Dame Sally Davies will be installed as the 39th Master of Trinity. She will be the first woman in the role.

Dame Sally said of the role: “I am excited to get started and to continue building the prestigious legacy of this inspiring College.”

The traditional ceremony will be observed by hundreds of students, Fellows and guests. The Choir will sing an especially commissioned 'Te Deum', composed by former Trinity organ scholar, Owain Park. You can watch the ceremony live from Chapel from 2.45pm here. The full ceremony will be available to watch online shortly after the event.

Dame Sally was formerly the Chief Medical Officer for England and Chief Medical Advisor to the UK Government. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society and a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences. She was made Dame Commander for services to Medicine in 2009.
