Iain Quinn

Iain QuinnIain Quinn grew up as a chorister at Llandaff Cathedral. He served as Organist at St Michael’s Theological College, Llandaff, later joining the faculty of the Blackheath Conservatoire, London.  In 1994 he moved to the USA and pursued advanced studies at The Juilliard School, The Hartt School-University of Hartford (BM summa cum laude) and the Institute of Sacred Music, Yale University (MM). He has served parishes in New York City and Connecticut and from 2005-2010 was Director of Music and Organist at the Cathedral of St John, Albuquerque, New Mexico. 

As an organist Iain Quinn has performed concerts throughout the UK, Europe, North America, Australia, Brazil, Hong Kong, Japan and Russia. 

As a composer his works have been performed at several festivals and by the choirs of Gonville and Caius and Trinity Colleges, Cambridge, and Westminster Cathedral.  He has recently published editions of the organ works of Samuel Barber (G. Schirmer) and the organ works of Carl Czerny (A-R Editions). 

His recordings appear on Chandos, Hyperion and Raven CD. 

Since 2009 Iain Quinn has served as Director of Music and College Tutor at the College of St Hild and St Bede, University of Durham, and is a Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Music. During the Spring semester of 2012 he was a Visiting Fellow at the Department of Music, Harvard University.
