Richard Gowers

Richard Gowers studies the organ with Professor Stefan Engels at the Mendelssohn Conservatoire in Leipzig. Originally from Cambridge, he was a chorister in King's College Choir until 2008. He spent the following five years as a music scholar at Eton College, learning the organ with David Goode. During this time he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists aged 17, gaining the top prize for performance.

Previously he has given solo recitals in UK venues including St Paul's Cathedral, Reading Town Hall and St Albans Cathedral for the 2013 St Albans International Organ Festival, and internationally in Dresden Cathedral and Leipzig's Nikolaikirche in Germany, and Washington National Cathedral and Princeton University Chapel in the United States.

Richard won first prize at the 2013 Northern Ireland International Organ Competition. He is currently organ scholar at King's College, Cambridge, where he studies Music.
