Phillips, Peter: Cantantibus organis

Cantantibus organis

Cantantibus organis Caecilia virgo in corde suo soli Domino decantabat dicens: Fiat Domine cor meum et corpus meum immaculatum, ut non confundar.

While the musicians played, Cecilia the virgin sang in her heart to the Lord, saying: Lord, let my heart and body remain undefiled, and let me not be confounded.

Words: First antiphon at Vespers on the Feast of St Cecilia
Music: Peter Philips (1560/61–1628)
