Germany 2013
This tour was crowned by a special concert at the European Festival of Church Music in honour of Sir John Tavener, in the presence of the composer and featuring his works Song for Athene and Funeral Ikos. Further musical highlights included a concert under the enormous dome of Kloster Sankt Blasien in the Black Forest, and a conducting masterclass for students at the Köln conservatoire. Beautiful weather accompanied the Choir throughout the tour, which thankfully included several opportunities for swimming.
The 32 singers’ crystal-clear intonation sets distinct harmonies alight, making the listener’s heart leap.
