Park, Owain: The Spirit Breathes

The Spirit Breathes (2017)

Loud organs his glory…

Even these shining veins
Of metal can be lured
To speak. Mouths cut
Into their polished skin
Announce the breath of praise,
Streaming like blood
To soak the listening soil,
The listening soul, with rain.

Even these steely hearts
Of ours can be pierced,
Their wounds and emptiness
Be spoken through. God grant
That spirit breathes
Where blood streams down,
Moistening the soul, the soil,
So that praise springs and singing starts.
