Tallis, Thomas: Man blest no doubt

Man blest no doubt (1567)

Man blest no doubt, who walketh not out,
In wicked men’s affairs;
And standeth no day, in sinners’ way,
Nor sitteth in scorners’ chairs;
But hath his will in God’s law still,
This law to love aright;
And will him use, on it to muse,
To keep it day and night.

Words: Matthew Parker (1504–75), based on Psalm 1 vv 1–2
Music: Thomas Tallis (c. 1505–85)
