Switzerland & France 2024
The Choir’s first tour under Steven Grahl also marked its first tour of Switzerland in two decades. Of especial significance was the Choir’s return to the mighty Baroque edifice of Einsiedeln Abbey, a centre of pilgrimage since the 10th century and home to the famous shrine of the ‘Black Madonna’, “Our Lady of the Hermits”. The all-British concert programme featured works by Master of the King’s Music, Dame Judith Weir, and by former Trinity Director of Music Sir Charles Villiers Stanford, whose centenary had been celebrated at College earlier that year with a > series of special performances.
