“The Choir of Trinity College Cambridge is ideally pure and full in tone… this is a perfect disc of its kind” – Gramophone Magazine

This widely-acclaimed album presents Herbert Howells’ two great musical memorials. ‘Take him, earth, for cherishing’ was a major public commission for the Washington Memorial Service for US President John F. Kennedy. The ‘Requiem’, by contrast, is a deeply personal work rooted in the composer’s own griefs which Howells only consented to publish near the end of his life in 1980.
